VIA is a virtual agent capable of responding to questions in natural language regarding the documents retrieval. In practice you can write an email like 'Hi LogicalDOC, can you find the contract of XYZ ?"  and get responded with the contracts that involve XYZ. So with VIA finding a document is as simple as sending an email message.

This feature uses the Artificial Intelligence to proces natural language messages (NLP) an this will give you the impression to interact with a human being.
